About Us

We are a group of citizens who are deeply concerned about the current state of the William Green House, located on The College of New Jersey campus in Ewing, NJ. The house is listed on the state and national registers.
For several years the Friends, in partnership with TCNJ, were raising funds for a full restoration so the house can be used as an alumni house with a museum function; however, the college recently announced they will not sanction a use or help us to restore or maintain the house, despite the longstanding fact that they own the house. Due to their lack of commitment to maintaining a house that once was in livable condition, the house has been placed on the Preservation New Jersey 2015 list of 10 Most Endangered Historic Sites.

Our mission is to: (1) raise funds and engage in related activities in order to renovate, and where possible restore the William Green Farmhouse, returning it to useful condition for the use of the community. and (2) collect, record & preserve objects, folklore and both published and unpublished material pertaining to the history of the William Green Farmhouse and foster interest in the farmhouse and its role in history.
